Obtainable Peace for the Overextended Woman in an Upside-Down World
Caregiving, isolation, zoom meetings, anxiety, censorship, living in a topsy turvy world.
Quiet time, calm mind, joy, and a serene spirit.
The truth? You can have both.
You’re a busy woman with far too many demands. Caring for loved ones, dealing with shortages, working from home, isolation, laundry piling up, dinner to fix, the dog needs a walk, anxiety, everything familiar has turned upside down!
Crazy busy? Yes. Feeling overwhelmed with no end in sight? Yes! Finding time to unwind or to do something you want to do, simply because it brings you pleasure? Yeah, right!.
Is peace within during unrest just a pipe dream?
Hey, I know caregiving, separation from family & friends, pets, political opposition, and social unrest are facts of life (they’re definitely facts of my life), but that doesn’t mean you can’t find calm in the midst of the storm. As a matter of fact, it’s imperative to your well-being.
That’s where I come in.
I’m Yobeth Puckett, and I’ve purposed in my heart to serve the Lord by serving you. I will give you scripture and create art designed to calm your mind and spirit based on scripture, hymns, and spiritual songs. These works can serve as visual reminders to bring bible stories and verses to mind. In addition to the piece of art, I give you downloadable Art Stories. Art Stories are PDFs that tell the story behind the art along with memory verses for you.
I know that memorizing scripture is the best way to find peace of mind and spirit. There is scripture to answer any problem we face in life. Use the art and companion PDFs for yourself or share with others. The art can be printed on many different home decor and lifestyle products which you can take with you or keep in your home.
Need more focus or a creative outlet for yourself? I can show you how to create your own downloadable pieces or leave a legacy of love for your family. It’s important to share the stories of how God has taken care of you with those you love. I have many years of experience teaching 1000’s of students on the teaching staff of education sites as well as a creative artist for many designers and digital art stores. Secrets to Success? Family ♥ Secure Job ♥ Benefits ♥
I was born in South Texas in the mid-’50s. I have loved drawing as far back as I can remember and always dreamed of being an artist. But my life took the typical course of that era when having a family and a secure job with great benefits were stressed over pursuing creative endeavors. So, my love of art was sidelined to a hobby, but my passion never waned. I cultivated it through years of school, private lessons, and self-study.
I went on to have a family and spent many years building a multifaceted career in education, customer service, sales, bookkeeping, and alongside my husband as business owners for well over 30 years.
Everything Changed in the Twinkling of an Eye
In January of 2019, my husband had a health emergency that sidelined him for most of the year. During that time, I had many concerns about him, our future, our business, finances, and more. Even though I know God is in charge and wants me to cast all my cares on him, I wrestled with worry & fear. I constantly tried to replace my fearful thoughts by memorizing scripture. I also spent a lot of time cutting our expenses to counter our lost income. This ended up helping us tremendously when faced with what lay ahead.
Just as we were rebounding from the setbacks of 2019 Covid-19 reared its ugly head! 2020 was catastrophic and transformative in many ways. Non-essential businesses were shut down (ours included). Self-isolation and Covid-19 coverage were center stage. It’s also the year I came full circle and got back to my roots.
Stress overload led me back to hands-on artwork for the calming and therapeutic effects. Although I always had a realistic style of art previously, now I developed a fun, whimsical, colorful style. I love working with acrylics, mixed media, and colored pencils. I posted some of my artwork online and received incredibly positive feedback. People wanted to know where they could buy it!
First Look Back, Then Move Forward! My testimony.
I needed to first look back before I could move forward! Not to dwell in the past but to remember where I came from, what I’ve learned, and what I believe the Lord would have me do. I was 31 when I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. Ever since that day I’ve wanted to do something for Him. Please don’t misunderstand, I know I can’t repay the debt He paid for me when He saved me, it’s not required or even possible, but I’ve had a desire to serve Him. Plus, I know I have some God-given talents that I should use for His glory. Somehow, someway. I didn’t know how or what He’d have me do, so I prayed and waited. And prayed and waited some more.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven:”
As I continued creating art, I continued praying and asking God if my art could be used for His glory? I believe it can so it’s time to keep moving forward!
My own personal testimony spotlights a need. I didn’t grow up in church, so I’d never heard any of the stories in the Bible. It’s so sad to realize that I was in my 30’s and knew so little about God & His Word. It’s even sadder that there are still so many that know nothing about God or the Bible, some even attend church faithfully. It’s my desire to bring these stories and characters to life for people who’ve never heard. I believe my fun, whimsical style lets people see themselves or their needs in the story. Now more than ever, we all need heroes and good Godly examples in our lives. Through this site, you’ll hear the stories of real people, ordinary people, put in extraordinary situations. You will learn about God and Jesus Christ. Most importantly, if you don’t know where you’ll go if you were to die today please read this.
Now I have even more time on my hands. In June 2021, my husband’s cardiologist retired him. It was unexpected though timely. After scrambling to sell business property, complete paperwork, and address some health issues we haven’t had much time to enjoy our retirement yet. But we’re getting there. I’m finally adjusting to having him home all the time. Now I’m getting back to my purpose in life.
I currently live in central Texas with my husband, our feisty Mini Schnauzer, and a mouser extraordinaire cat. We live about 25 miles south of Waco, home to Chip & Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame & all things Magnolia, surrounded by rolling hills and ranch land with beautiful landscapes. If somehow you’ve missed the Magnolia bandwagon and therefore don’t know where Waco is, we’re about 70 miles north of Austin.
More importantly, if you have never heard the gospel or you’re not sure if you’re are going to heaven or hell when you die read this.
Every spring the fields in central Texas come alive with wildflowers, especially Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrushes, & Buttercups.
